bill taylor, cpa

Bill is a CPA based in Asheville North Carolina. He’s worked with Hospice and Home Healths for many years. He also teaches workshops with and for Community Health Accreditation Partners, CHAP.

cost reports
In April 2025 Bill surpassed the 1000 mark, processing 1000 hospice, home health and FQHC cost reports. And, of the 50 largest hospice chains in the country, Bill processed 7 of them including their home office cost reports.

financial auditing
Bill made an unhappy discovery visiting hospice across the country: Many are grossly overcharged for their financial audits. Part of the reason is that traditional CPA firms don’t understand hospice and home health. Bill can charge less because he knows them both thoroughly.

hospice turnarounds
Financial turnarounds. CAHPS/quality turnarounds. This is Bill’s world. Along the way he’s helped

  • Hospice in the Mid-West 350 ADC
    • This Hospice had never put together consecutive months of operational profitability. And never once annually. Took them to double digit profitability in a year.
  • Hospice in the Mid-West   800 ADC
    • Their Hospice quality scores were the worst in the region. Introduced educational system geared toward patient/family satisfaction rather than organizational SOPs. Re-vamped their deeply flawed admissions process. Created first ever financials for locations.
  • Hospice in the South   1200 ADC
    • Instituted Agency and Clinical Standards, education/onboarding program and financial reporting for geographically spread-out locations.
  • Hospice in the Deep South  1200 ADC
    • Worst to first quality scores in region. Brought financial stability and prevented the need to sell out the Hospice next door.
  • The Southern California 550 ADC
    • The new CEO was told she had to move profitability up to 2%. Helped her move it to 15% with spikes of 18 and 22%.
  • Hospice in the South   200 ADC
    • Moved them to profitability by fixing Inpatient Unit, On-Call and Admissions.
  • Hospice in the Eastern Mountains     135 ADC
    • Helped them move to profitability by identifying their problem areas and directing them to simple, proven solutions.
  • Hospice in the South   75 ADC
    • This organization would cease to exist in mid-2023 when a large note was to come due. Helped them reduce costs rapidly and put them on a course to attract a lender.
  • Hospice Northern California
    • Implemented compensation system based on sustainable standards and help bring long-term profitability systems to the organization.

And many more.
